Miele

Miele is a family-owned appliance maker founded in 1899 and based in Gütersloh, Germany. Its kitchen range covers dishwashers, ovens, coffee machines, and refrigeration.

What Miele makes

In the Sacramento region, Miele is sold through the DreamHome Appliance Group showroom in Roseville.

Miele builds a wide kitchen and laundry catalog with a strong built-in program. The kitchen line covers wall ovens, combination steam ovens, speed ovens, and a built-in coffee system that grinds and brews espresso drinks, along with induction, gas, and electric cooktops and ventilation. Its dishwashers are a core product, offered fully integrated to take a cabinet panel, with a cutlery tray on top and an automatic dispensing system. Refrigeration runs to integrated columns and built-in models that sit flush with cabinetry. The laundry line pairs front-load washers and dryers, including heat-pump dryers, with programs tuned to specific fabrics. The company also builds vacuums outside the kitchen. Across the range, the design is restrained and the controls consistent, and the appliances are meant to be specified as a coordinated built-in suite in a kitchen that wants German engineering.

The built-in program

What separates Miele is a deep built-in program. The ovens use precise temperature control and moisture, with steam models that add humidity for baking and reheating, and the built-in coffee system brings café drinks into a wall unit. The dishwashers run quietly with a top cutlery tray that frees the lower racks and an automatic detergent-dosing system. Integrated refrigeration and dishwashing take custom panels so they disappear into the cabinetry. The laundry programs are tuned tightly to fabric types with steam and gentle drying. The through-line is precise, built-in engineering.

The built-in ovens and coffee system belong flush in a tall run, and there is Miele installed in a Design Gallery kitchen, in the kitchen and bath showroom sharing the Roseville building with us.

Miele dishwashers, ovens, and laundry

  • Dishwashers. Miele's US dishwashers come in three forms: integrated panel-ready models that hide behind a cabinet front, semi-integrated models that fit into the cabinetry while keeping the controls visible, and built-in models that fit beneath the countertop. Miele groups them in Diamond, Platinum, Gold, and Silver lines, with model numbers in the G 5000 and G 7000 families. AutoDos with PowerDisk, which doses detergent for each cycle, is on many models, so check the model name and spec sheet.
  • Built-in ovens. The Generation 7000 built-in range covers combi-steam ovens, ovens, and induction cooktops. Speed ovens pair a full oven with a microwave and come in 24-inch and 30-inch widths; niche height differs by model, so check the spec sheet.
  • Design lines. Miele finishes its built-in cooking range in four design lines. PureLine pairs a glass front with a handle. ContourLine is built around a stainless-steel frame. ArtLine has a handleless front. VitroLine is a consistent glass design.
  • Coffee. Built-in bean-to-cup machines carry the CVA prefix.

Planning a Miele kitchen

Miele suits a kitchen planned as one coordinated run: dishwasher, oven stack, and coffee machine in the same design line. A cook who wants detergent handled by the machine will weigh the G 7000 against the G 5000. Weigh the cabinet side: a panel-ready dishwasher takes a cabinet front, so the door hardware and panel weight are part of the plan. Read our panel-ready dishwasher guide before you order panels. For the oven stack, the Roseville team can walk through the niche sizes with you. For laundry across several makers, see our laundry appliances overview, and you can plan the full suite at the appliance store serving greater Sacramento.

Miele questions

Where can I buy a Miele dishwasher?

Miele is on our line card and available to order. Plan a Miele kitchen with the team at our Roseville showroom, which serves the greater Sacramento area, or browse the Miele catalog through our online store.

Who makes Miele?

Miele makes its own appliances. It is a family business founded in 1899 in Herzebrock, Germany, by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann, headquartered in Gütersloh, and still owned by descendants of both founders.

Where are Miele dishwashers made?

Miele builds domestic dishwashers at its Bielefeld factory in Germany, and from Bielefeld it coordinates further dishwasher model ranges made at its plants in Uničov, Czech Republic, and Dongguan, China.

Can a Miele dishwasher take a cabinet panel?

Yes. Miele's integrated panel-ready dishwashers hide fully behind a cabinet front, and its semi-integrated models fit into the cabinetry while keeping the control panel visible. Miele lists sound ratings from 41 to 45 dB(A) across its Diamond, Platinum, Gold, and Silver lines. Read our panel-ready dishwasher guide before ordering panels.

Is Miele a good brand?

It depends on what you weigh. Miele says it puts its appliances through stress and endurance tests before launch and tests household appliances for up to 20 years of use. That is the maker's test claim, not a promise for a given machine. To compare it with another maker, read Miele vs Bosch dishwashers.

What is the difference between Miele G 5000 and G 7000 dishwashers?

Both are current US model families. Miele now groups its dishwashers by line (Diamond, Platinum, Gold, and Silver), and features such as AutoDos with PowerDisk, Knock2Open, and AutoOpen drying vary by line and model. The model name and spec sheet are the reliable guide.
