Scotsman
Scotsman makes residential undercounter ice machines in a 15-inch width: the Brilliance nugget ice machine and gourmet cubers that make clear, slow-melting cubes. Scotsman dates its first commercial nugget ice machine to 1981 and its first residential ice machine to 1968.
Scotsman residential ice machines
Scotsman's residential site lists four undercounter machines, all 15 inches wide:
- Brilliance Nugget, SRN110. Soft, chewable nugget ice made from compacted flakes. Scotsman lists an approval for indoor or outdoor use, a lighted bin, a concealed hinge system, a field-reversible door, a custom wood panel option, and a built-in drain pump as an option.
- Brilliance Cuber, SRC065. Gourmet cubes, up to 65 pounds in 24 hours, indoor and outdoor rated, with a custom panel option and a 26-pound bin.
- Brilliance Cuber, SRC035. Gourmet cubes, up to 35 pounds in 24 hours, indoor only, shipped with an unfinished front panel for a custom wood panel or Scotsman's stainless steel front kit.
- Legacy Cuber, DRC033. Gourmet cubes, up to 30 pounds in 24 hours, indoor only, in a stainless steel finish with a towel-bar handle accessory.
Every cuber lists air cooling, a 115-volt supply on a dedicated 15-amp circuit, and a 26-pound bin.
Nugget or cubes
Scotsman describes its nugget ice as soft, easy to chew, and able to absorb the flavors of a beverage, and lists soft or blended drinks and smoothies among its uses. It describes its gourmet cubes as hard, crystal clear, taste-free, and odorless, and says they melt slower, so drinks stay truer to their original flavor.
Who Scotsman suits
Scotsman suits a kitchen, bar, or outdoor run that wants a dedicated ice machine near the drinks. The 15-inch width fits a narrow cabinet opening, a drain pump is available as an option, and the custom panel options let the machine read as part of the cabinetry. Bring the opening, tell the Roseville team whether the machine goes indoors or outdoors (two of the four are indoor only), and plan the dedicated circuit and water line with a licensed professional.
